Komik ist was Tolles. Wir alle mögen Komik. Wir lachen, wenn etwas komisch ist und lachen macht uns froh. Wir suchen uns etwas Komisches, wenn wir lachen wollen. Wir schauen uns Komiker an, die viel Zeit damit verbracht haben, ihre Komik auszuarbeiten, vorzubereiten, zurechtzufeilen und zu perfektionieren und manche von ihnen verdienen sogar sehr viel Geld damit. Also muss da irgendwas dran sein, an dieser Komiksache…
Sie taugt zur eigenen Aufmunterung, sie macht ein Gespräch leicht und angenehmem, sie bietet uns Auswege aus konfliktbehafteten Gesprächen. Sich im Alltag nach komischen Momenten auf die zu Suche zu machen ist ein wesentlicher Schlüssel für eine humorvolle Haltung. Denn das Erstaunliche ist ja: selbst die besten Komiker tun eigentlich nur eins: sie führen uns den Ernst des Lebens vor Augen. Nur eben auf eine bestimmte Art und Weise.
Wenn wir uns selbst und die Dinge um uns herum weniger ernst nehmen wollen, müssen wir der Komik einen festen Platz einräumen.
Um mehr Komik in unser Leben einzubauen, können wir entweder das Komische in unserer Umgebung suchen oder aber natürlich auch selbst eine gewisse Komik erzeugen. Letzteres bedarf etwas Übung und wir werden uns dieser Aufgabe zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt noch einmal widmen.
Heute schauen wir erst einmal darauf, was der Mensch im allgemeinen komisch findet. Verstehen wir diesen Artikel als eine kleine Vorübung für das, was da noch kommen mag…
Elemente des Komischen gibt es einige, für heute beginne ich mal mit den drei einfachsten – wir wollen schließlich niemanden überfordern 😉 Am besten, Sie suchen sich nach der Lektüre dieses Artikel eine davon aus und begeben sich zunächst in eine aufmerksame Beobachtungshaltung.
Die Übertreibung
Zahnarzt zum Patienten: „Sie brauchen den Mund nicht so weit aufzureißen. Ich bleibe während der Behandlung draußen.“
Eine Übertreibung ist eine Überhöhung dessen, was gerade ist oder passiert. Menschen finden das seltsamer Weise lustig. Ein Problem zu übertreiben relativiert oft seine Wichtigkeit…
Beobachten Sie doch mal Situationen um sich herum (beispielsweise in der U-Bahn, in einer Besprechung,…). Übertreiben Sie in Gedanken irgendeine Ihrer Beobachtungen. Beispielsweise ein Mensch, der sich sehr langsam bewegt, stellen Sie ihn sich als Schnecke vor. Ein wütender Chef – wie wird der wohl aussehen, wenn sein Kopf immer größer und größer wird, bis er platzt…? Sie müssen ja keinem verraten, weshalb Ihnen ein Lächeln über das Gesicht huscht.
Welche vielleicht unliebsame Eigenheit von Ihnen können Sie mal so übertreiben, dass sie komisch wird und Sie drüber lachen können?
Die Reduktion
Der Präsident eines Schwimmvereins nach einem Wettkampf zu seiner Mannschaft: „Zu einem Sieg hat es nicht gereicht, aber wenigstens ist keiner ertrunken.“
Die Untertreibung funktioniert ganz ähnlich, nur eben umgekehrt: Etwas bewusst unter seinen Möglichkeiten zu beschreiben, sich selbst absichtlich kleiner machen als man ist – das erzeugt zunächst Irritation und geht folgerichtig mit Komik einher.
Machen Sie sich auf die Suche nach Situationen, in denen ein Fakt so reduziert wird, dass es schon komisch wird. Auf Willy Brandt’s Grabstein beispielsweise steht „Man hat sich bemüht.“ – eine ziemliche Untertreibung für einen Bundeskanzler und Nobelpreisträger…

Die Überraschung
„Sie halten mich wohl für einen Trottel?!“ „Überhaupt nicht, ich beurteile Menschen nie nach ihrem Aussehen.“
Wenn etwas passiert, was wir überhaupt nicht erwartet haben, finden wir das komisch. Nagut, es gibt Unerwartetes, worüber wir nur schwer lachen können, aber die kleinen unerwarteten Dinge entlocken uns einfach ein Schmunzeln wenn nicht sogar lachen. Das hat etwas damit zu tun, wie unser Gehirn mit kleinen Enttäuschungen umgeht. Witze funktionieren im Wesentlichen nach diesem Prinzip: es wird eine bestimmte Erwartung aufgebaut, welche dann mit einer überraschenden Pointe enttäuscht wird. Und wir finden das dann auch noch komisch!
Scannen Sie Ihre Umgebung nach Dingen, die Sie nicht erwartet hätten. Was finden Sie daran komisch? Und welche Reaktion von Ihnen würde Ihre Kollegen total überraschen?
